Stop using the manual torque wrench for flight control rod ends, use the fish scale trick
I was chasing a .003 inch play on an aileron rod end for two days last month, torquing to spec and still getting bearing bind. Ended up hanging a 3 lb fish scale off the control surface horn and pulling to 2.5 lbs of drag, found the bad bearing in 10 minutes. Anyone else measure rod end drag this way or am I just lucky it worked?
