Spent $200 on a cheap signal generator off Amazon

Bought a no-name signal generator for troubleshooting a comms issue in a King Air last month. It drifted like crazy after 20 minutes and I couldn't trust a single reading. Ended up borrowing a buddy's Fluke for the rest of the job. Has anyone else had a test tool fail them on a live aircraft?

Yeah no name gear and aircraft electrical work don't mix. Learned that one the hard way too.

Buddy of mine tried that once, spent a whole shift chasing a phantom short.
