Overheard an engineer say something about shielded cable grounds that stuck with me

Was waiting for a part at the supply counter last Tuesday when I heard two senior engineers talking. One said he's been seeing more interference issues from people grounding shielded cable at both ends instead of just one. Said it creates a ground loop that messes with sensitive avionics readings. Made me think about all the harnesses I've helped install over the last few months. I've always just followed the wiring diagram without really questioning the ground scheme. Now I'm wondering if some of those intermittent glitches we chased were actually from bad shielding practices. Has anyone else ran into this where the manual says one thing but the field experience says another on shield termination?

Honestly, @river_hart18, your post got me thinking. Ngl, I used to just roll my eyes at stuff like this but you have a point. Tbh, it changes the whole way I look at it now.
