Old QC inspector straightened me out on continuity checks
Guy told me I was wasting time buzzing every single pin because I wasn't looking at the voltage drop. Now I just use a milliohm meter and caught a 0.3 ohm discrepancy on a harness that would have passed normal testing.

Funny how that works, the old guys usually have these little tricks that cut through all the modern nonsense. It's like when you learn to read a room instead of just listening to what people say, you catch the real story underneath. Same principle everywhere - surface checks miss what's really going on underneath.

All due respect, but "reading the room" is just another way of saying you're guessing based on your own biases. I've seen plenty of old timers misread a situation because they were so sure their gut feeling was right, only to be completely wrong because they ignored the actual facts in front of them. Surface checks may miss things, sure, but they also catch hard evidence that feelings can't see. A room full of people nodding along doesn't mean they agree with you, it might just mean they're polite or tired of arguing. I'd rather trust a checklist and a clear set of questions than rely on someone's "sixth sense" that's really just their past experiences coloring reality.
