Am I the only one who walked through a Delta hangar in Atlanta last week
I was checking out their avionics bay on a 737-800 and noticed every single wire bundle was tied with those cheap plastic zip ties, not lacing cord like I always use. The lead tech told me 'zip ties are faster and pass inspection just fine' but I swear they look sloppy and can cut into insulation over time. Has anyone else seen a shift away from lacing cord in big commercial shops?

You think a flooring guy can't spot a hack job from a mile away? Right there with you. Plastic zip ties on a 737? Might as well hold the wing together with duct tape. I use the good stuff on my own van's wiring and it's just a work truck. These guys are cutting corners for speed, not quality. Bet they use spray foam to level their floors too.

You ever seen a buddy's boat trailer wiring after a "quick fix"? My friend Tom ended up stranded on the highway with a melted harness, all because some guy swore zip ties were "good enough.
