Air data probes vs. static ports, I flipped my whole stance after a Denver trip
I used to insist on changing both every time, even if only one read bad. Then a CRJ out of Denver had a static port that looked fine but gave us a 40 foot altimeter error on the ramp. Replacing just that port and rechecking the system showed it was the right call, saved the operator maybe $900 in parts. Do you guys swap both or trust the individual readings more?
