A320 vs 737 for my first type course, did I mess up picking the bus?
I had to choose between paying out of pocket for an A320 type course at FlightSafety in Dallas or waiting 8 months for my shop to sponsor the 737 course. I went with the A320 in February because the wait was killing me and I wanted widebody work later on, but now half the jobs I see posted want 737 time. The course itself was fine, 5 weeks of sims and systems, but I am wondering if I bet on the wrong horse. My lead tech keeps saying Airbus is the future and Boeing is where the jobs are, and I honestly can't tell who's right. For the guys who have been in the trade a while, does type really lock you in or can you cross over without paying for another course?
