A pilot at the FBO told me he trusts our work more than the factory's
He said he's seen too many brand new birds come in with factory wiring that looks like a rat's nest, while our shop's repairs are clean and labeled. It made me realize our field fixes might actually be better than the original installs sometimes. Anyone else had a customer point out something like that?

My buddy who works on private jets says the same thing. He's had brand new planes roll in with zip ties still on the factory wiring bundles, like they forgot the final step. Makes our local shop look pretty good.

No kidding! I saw a brand new service truck once where they never even clipped the ends off the wire terminals. Just left these sharp little metal flags everywhere. How does that even get out the door?

Seriously, that's just asking for a cut hand or a short circuit... I had a new microwave once with the ground wire just dangling loose inside, not even screwed down. Felt like they rushed it out the door on a Friday afternoon.
