Shipped a car from Phoenix to Seattle and learned the hard way that "enclosed" does not mean what I thought
So I paid $1,450 to move my '06 GTI from Phoenix to Seattle last month, and I specifically sprung for the enclosed trailer because the paint is original and I am weird about it. The driver calls me two days out and says he is running a five car wedge, which I figured meant fully closed in. Turns out "enclosed" just means hard sides on the trailer, and the back third of the top is open air the whole trip. My car rode 1,400 miles with desert dust and two days of rain blowing straight onto the roof. The guy was cool about it and showed me photos from pickup, so nothing got scratched, but I stood in a parking lot in Kent feeling like an idiot. Does anyone know if the fully sealed box trailers are a separate booking, or do you just have to ask the broker directly?
