Can we talk about the delivery yard in Newark I drove past and why I stopped hauling cars open carrier
I was dropping off a load near the port in Newark last week and sat in the lot for about 40 minutes waiting on paperwork. What got me was a row of brand new SUVs sitting there with that white plastic still half peeled off, and you could see rock chips and road grime all down the sides from the trip. I always figured open carrier is fine for anything under $30k and most people shipping a daily driver shouldn't pay extra. But watching a guy walk around his 2024 Tahoe shaking his head over a cracked windshield made me rethink it. He said he was quoted $850 more for enclosed and skipped it to save money, now he's filing a claim. For a car you actually care about, that gap looks a lot smaller than it did to me before. Anyone here switched to enclosed after a bad open carrier run, or do you still think it's mostly overkill?
