My odometer hit 250,000 on I-40 outside Flagstaff and I finally understood why my warranty claim got denied
Turns out the powertrain coverage on my 2012 Civic cut off at 100k, and I had been assuming it lasted forever, so now I want to know if anyone actually reads that little booklet before something goes wrong or if we all just learn the hard way like I did.

Oh man, that powertrain coverage thing trips up so many people. Its not just the miles that matter either, theres usually a time limit too, like 5 years or 60k or whatever comes first, so a 2012 Civic wouldve been out of that window years ago no matter how you drove it. The basic bumper to bumper stuff is even shorter, like 3 years or 36k on most cars. I read my booklet once when I bought used and it was honestly depressing how little was actually covered.
