My extended warranty paid out after I did one thing the dealer rep told me to skip
My transmission started slipping at 61,000 miles on my 2019 Civic, and the dealer quoted me $3,400 for a rebuild. Before agreeing to anything I called the warranty company directly and asked them to send their own adjuster out instead of letting the dealer handle the claim. The adjuster came to my driveway in Plano two days later, looked at the fluid and the codes, and approved a full rebuild minus a $100 deductible. The dealer rep had told me the adjuster visit would just slow things down and to let them handle it, which would have cost me about $900 in stuff they said wasn't covered. Has anyone else gone straight to the warranty company instead of letting the shop file it?
