Talked to a retired diesel tech about using air tools on every bolt and he said I was ruining my torque wrenches
He told me to break bolts loose with a ratchet first and save the air gun for stuff that actually needs it, now I'm wondering how many of my thread repairs could have been avoided by that one tip-has anyone else wrecked a torque wrench by using it like an impact?

Oh man, that "breaking bolts loose with a ratchet first" tip would have saved me so much headache. I definitely used my torque wrench like an impact for way too long and now it clicks at random settings.

Buddy of mine wrecked two torque wrenches that same way before he wised up.
