Swapped a transmission solo last Friday and it was the best and worst day of my year.
Got a 2014 Ford Focus with the DPS6 that finally gave up. Owner didn't want to pay shop rates so I told him I'd do it for cash on the side. Started at 6am, everything was going smooth until I dropped the subframe and one of the bolts snapped clean off. Spent 2 hours drilling and extracting that thing. By 4pm I had the new unit in and it fired right up. Made $800 for the day but I was cussing that broken bolt the whole time. Any of you guys have a job that went from great to garbage in one stripped bolt?
