Snapped a brake line on a '97 F150 in my driveway Wednesday, and I miss the days when you could actually reach the fittings without cussing.

Had to cut two unions free with a torch because rust had welded them together after 27 years of Minnesota winters, anyone else deal with lines that seem fused to the frame?

Dude, "reach the fittings without cussing" really hits home. My buddy Jim had a '92 F150 that he was trying to fix a fuel line on, and he spent a whole Saturday fighting a union that was completely seized. He ended up slicing his knuckle open on some rusty bracket, bled all over the driveway, and finally had to torch the whole section out just like you did. The worst part was he found out later the replacement line kit was cheaper online than what the parts store sold him. Sometimes I swear the rust on these trucks is smarter than we are.
