Showerthought: I tried cleaning a throttle body with just brake cleaner for a quick fix, and it made the idle way worse for a solid hour.

What's the actual risk with brake cleaner, @fiona_scott44? I've seen guys at the shop use it to clean the gunk off the throttle plate in a pinch. Does it eat up the special coating or mess with the throttle position sensor? I need to know what to avoid next time mine gets sticky.
