Rant: sensor spray cleaner on a MAF is overkill, just use rubbing alcohol

I had a 2012 Ford Focus throwing a P0101 code, lean idle all over the place. Everyone online says buy the $12 CRC MAF cleaner but I just used 91% isopropyl on a cotton swab, gently wiped the wires, and it cleared up in 5 miles. Has anyone else tried the cheap route and got the same result?

Rubbing alcohol works just fine if you're careful and let it dry completely. That CRC stuff is basically the same thing with a fancy nozzle and a big markup. People act like you're gonna destroy your engine if you don't use the exact brand they recommend. You just gotta make sure whatever you use evaporates clean with no residue left behind. Your 5 mile clear proves it worked so don't let anyone tell you different.

My buddy tried the same thing on his Civic and it worked perfect too.
