Rant: I hit 300k miles on my old Cummins and everyone told me to junk it

I rolled over 300,000 miles in my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 last Tuesday near Flagstaff. All the guys at the shop kept saying I was crazy for holding onto it, but I've only done basic upkeep and the motor still pulls strong. Why is everyone so quick to trash a high-mile diesel when it's barely broken in? Has anyone else had a rig hit a big number and surprise them?

Hell yeah, my old Cummins hit 350k last year and still runs like a beast.

350k is amazing. Those old 12 valves just refuse to die lmao. Mine's barely broken in at 200k.
