Hit 200,000 miles on my old F-150 last week and it barely broke a sweat

Everyone at the shop keeps telling me to swap it for something newer, but I just don't see the point. That 4.6 liter V8 still runs smooth as glass and I've only done basic maintenance since day one. Has anyone else kept a truck running way past what people call its life?

You talking about the 4.6, @iris_green84? Nah, those old Ford modular motors from the 90s and early 2000s still used a timing chain. They didn't switch to a belt until later on the 3-valve versions. Solid setup, that chain is good for the life of the engine if you keep the oil changed.

Don't those old 4.6 engines actually have a timing chain instead of a belt?
