Had a customer bring in a 'noise' complaint on a brand new truck
Honestly, he was sure something was broken because he heard a 'whirring' sound when he turned. Took it for a spin and it was just the normal power steering pump. He looked so relieved, then asked if I could make it quieter anyway. Anyone else get requests to fix sounds that are just... how the car works?

My favorite is when they want the turn signal click quieter.

Yeah, that's a classic one. The power steering whine gets people every time, especially on newer models that are otherwise so quiet. Had a guy last month convinced his transmission was failing because of the normal injector tick on a cold start. Sometimes you just have to walk them through it, let them hear a known-good car doing the same thing. It saves everyone a headache.
