Had a '97 Silverado come in with a misfire and spent 3 hours chasing the wrong code before realizing I never cleared the memory from the last job

Turns out the knock sensor code was leftover from a tune-up 6 months ago and the real issue was a vacuum leak at the intake gasket, has anyone else wasted time on old codes they forgot to wipe?

dude that knock sensor code is actually famous for ghosting even after you clear the memory in some of those older trucks, i've seen it come back after a battery pull somehow lol

Dude @aarons36 I've seen that code clear and stay gone after a proper relearn with a scan tool, not just a battery pull.
