Discovered a trick for stuck O2 sensors on my F-150
Had a 2015 F-150 with a rusted O2 sensor that wouldn't budge. Tried heat and PB Blaster for 2 hours with no luck. Then I remembered an old trick from my uncle who runs a shop in Phoenix - he said to tap the socket with a hammer while applying steady torque. Broke it loose in under 30 seconds flat. Anybody else had luck with that method or is there a better way to deal with these rusted units?

That tapping trick is actually legit, I've used it on a few different cars and it works way better than people expect. The vibration from the hammer helps break up the rust crust between the threads and the socket, plus it kinda shocks the sensor loose. I've also had good luck with a breaker bar and a long pipe for extra leverage, but you gotta be careful not to snap the sensor right off. Another thing I've done is spray PB Blaster on it, let it sit overnight, then hit it with the tapping method the next morning and it usually pops right out.

Man that PB Blaster soak plus the tap trick is my go to move too. Ive definitely snapped a sensor or two trying to just muscle it off with a breaker bar and no prep, felt pretty stupid staring at a broken 100 dollar part. Learned the hard way that patience and a little vibration are way better than just cranking on it. These days I spray it down the night before, tap it a few times, and then come back with the breaker bar and its usually way easier. Still get a little nervous every time though, feels like the car is just waiting to humble me.
