A veteran in Detroit ripped my brake job, and I'm still not sure he was right
I used to smear anti-seize on every lug stud until a 30 year guy at a shop in Detroit watched me do it and said I was setting up the next poor soul for stretched studs and a warped rotor. Now I torque everything dry and clean, but half the old timers I know swear by a little never seize and call me paranoid. So who's actually right here, are you guys running dry studs or not?
That Detroit guy was right about the dry torque, since grease changes the friction and you end up overstretching the stud. Keep them clean and dry, maybe just a drop of oil if the manual says so.
