Why I think hand-painted pinstripes beat vinyl decals every time

I've been doing hand-painted pinstripes on my restoration projects for years. The control you get with a brush lets you follow body curves perfectly, unlike vinyl that can peel or bubble. Sure, it takes more skill, but the result looks custom and lasts longer. If you're serious about quality, skip the stickers and learn to paint.

Totally! @nathan776 gets it, my dad's old truck is the same way.

Saw an old farm truck at a swap meet last year with the wildest pinstripe job, all swirls and lines that followed the dents. Got talking to the owner and he said his granddad did it freehand with a brush in the 70s, no tape or nothing. Makes you realize that skill is a kind of history on the car itself, which a roll of vinyl just can't copy. That old paint was faded but still perfect, no lifting edges or corners. Kinda proves the point that the hard way stays good.

Man, that reminds me of my uncle's old van with a full mural airbrushed on the side, some sunset with an eagle. It was flaking off in chunks but you could still see every little spray gun pass, like the guy's hand speed was baked into the clear coat. There's just a feel to stuff done right by eye and hand that a printer can't fake, even when it's worn down.
