Went to a pick-n-pull in Detroit and counted 14 different shades of red on just the Hondas...
How do we ever get a match on these late model cars when the factory blends are that inconsistent, or is it just me fighting with the paint code every time?

Read somewhere that manufacturers will use different paint batches for the same car depending on where it's headed. Makes you wonder how salvage yards even bother trying to keep it straight.

Fourteen shades of red on just Hondas at one yard, that's wild. I swear Honda's "Milano Red" is actually like seven different reds depending on what year and what phase of the moon they mixed it under. At this point I'm convinced the paint code is just a suggestion, a little hint to get you in the ballpark so you can still be wrong.
