Switched from a DA to a longboard for my last project and it was a game changer

I used to do all my blocking with a 6 inch DA sander, took forever and left swirl marks I had to chase. About 3 months ago I borrowed a 18 inch longboard from a guy at the shop in Denver and tried it for a 2010 Honda Civic quarter panel. Cut my blocking time by almost half and the surface was way flatter before primer. Anyone else ditch their DA for longboarding on big panels?

Heard a buddy swear up and down by his longboard after fighting with a DA on a Tahoe roof for two days. Said he’ll never go back for big flat stuff now.

Two days on a Tahoe roof with a DA? Sounds like a relationship test more than a surf session. Your buddy probably saved himself some serious back pain and a ruined weekend. Honestly, who needs that kind of drama for a wave you could get on a log anyway.
