Noticed a huge difference after switching to 3M hookit discs on my DA sander

Been using the same cheap discs from the local auto paint store for years. Last month I picked up a box of 3M hookit 6 inch 80 grit on a whim. The difference was night and day after just one panel. The hookit stuff cut through the old paint way faster and the dust collection was actually working instead of clogging up after 30 seconds. I did a whole fender in about 15 minutes instead of 45. Has anyone else had better luck with the hookit vs the standard purple discs?

I used to think the cheap purple discs were fine and the expensive stuff was a waste, but that changed fast after trying the 3M hookit. The difference in cut speed and dust control is hard to argue with, like you said the panel time went way down. Now I won't go back to anything else for heavy work like paint removal.

Honestly man I was the same way, used to think paying more for sanding discs was a scam. But I tried a box of the hookit stuff last month and yeah, it totally changed my mind too.
