My cousin's 'quick fix' with a pry bar cost me $700 in damage

My cousin stopped by last Saturday and said he could pop out the dent on my rear quarter panel with a pry bar and a heat gun. I told him I'd handle it after I got the right tools, but he insisted it was a 10 minute job. He ended up ripping the paint clean off and bending the inner wheel well so bad the tire rubbed on turns. Took it to a shop in Portland and they quoted me $700 to fix what was a $150 dent originally. Has anyone else had a family member 'help' that made things way worse?
