My cheap paint gun finally gave out mid-project on a Porsche 911 hood yesterday

The cheap gun I bought two years ago started sputtering and throwing trash into the clear coat halfway through a $500 job, so I tossed it and finished with an old Devilbiss I should have been using all along has anyone else had a budget tool fail at the worst possible time?

Honestly, I gotta say I think you're being a little hard on that cheap gun. It gave you two years of work for what, maybe 40 bucks? That's not a failure, that's a solid return on investment. Plus, sometimes those cheap guns force you to be a better painter because you have to work around their quirks and limitations. Not every job needs a two thousand dollar setup, you know? Tbh, if the gun had held up and you finished that hood perfectly, you'd probably still be using it right now and never would have pulled out the Devilbiss.
