Learned to stop buffing so hard after a customer pointed out my holograms

A guy who restores classics told me I was pushing too hard with the wool pad and creating micro-swirls. Has anyone else had to completely change their buffing pressure after getting called out?

Oh man, that's a tough pill to swallow when a customer catches something you missed... How did you even figure out you were pressing too hard in the first place? Were you using a wool pad straight on the paint or did you have a cutting compound in the mix? I'm wondering if it was more about the pad type or just straight pressure from your arm.

Did you have a wool pad on there? I always thought pressure was the main thing too, but man, this one job really changed my mind after seeing how pad type can mess things up just as bad.
