Friday bumper replacement turned into a 9 hour nightmare over a missing clip

Had a 2017 Civic come in at 3 PM for a rear bumper swap, but the last owner lost the inner fender clip set so I had to source one from a junkyard across town, and by the time I got back the customer was standing there asking why it wasn't done yet, has anyone else dealt with a car that's missing every single plastic retainer?
