Found a trick for blending clear coat on a pearl job

Had a nasty scratch on a 2019 Toyota pearl white bumper last week, dry sanded with 3000 grit then hit it with a heat gun before spraying. Blended in almost perfect, anyone else use heat to help the metallic settle?

Man I never thought about the dust thing after vacuuming but you're totally right lol. Heat makes particles move faster and settle down quicker, that's just basic science right there. Now I'm gonna be overthinking every single thing I use a heat gun on. Next time I'm mixing up epoxy for a keychain project I'm definitely gonna try warming it up first to see if it clears out faster.

...and it's funny how that heat trick works for more than just paint. I've noticed the same principle everywhere - like when you're trying to settle sugar in iced tea. Heat just makes particles settle faster. Same with epoxy resin or even dust in a room after you vacuum. Physics doesn't care if it's paint or tea.
