Bought a $4000 spray booth filter setup, went back to basic overspray nets after 3 jobs
My shop in Portland kept getting dust nibs on clear coats, so I dropped $4000 on that fancy multi-stage filtration system with the pre-filters and the carbon layer. First job looked great, second job had a weird static issue, and by the third job the airflow dropped so much my gun was spitting. I pulled the whole thing out and put back the cheap roll of overspray netting I used for 10 years, cost me maybe $60 for a roll. The finish quality is actually the same, maybe even better because the air moves consistently. Anyone else blow money on high-end booth upgrades and end up regretting it, or is my booth just too small for that kind of system?

You ever read those forum threads where guys swear the $8k downdraft booths still need the old school filters... I seen a few painters say the same thing about airflow being the real boss.
