A customer in my shop taught me something about clear coat I won't forget
This older guy brought in his '67 Mustang for a small scratch repair. He watched me mix the clear and said, 'You know, that stuff needs to breathe for a solid minute before you spray it, right?' He was right. I was rushing. I let it sit, sprayed it, and the finish came out way smoother. Has anyone else had a customer give you a tip that actually worked?

What exactly did he mean by "breathe"? Was he talking about letting the activator mix in fully, or was it about letting solvents evaporate a bit first?

Reminds me of how people overcomplain simple instructions.

Dude overanalyzing "breathe" is peak internet. People just need to chill and follow the steps literally. It's not that deep.
