That $300 helmet heater kit was a total waste of battery
Bought one of those heated visor inserts in November thinking it would fix my fogging issue on cold morning rides. Cost me $220 plus another $80 for the battery pack. First ride out it drained the pack in under an hour and the heat barely spread across the visor. I ended up using the old trick, a thin layer of dish soap wiped inside the visor, and that stopped the fog completely for free. The heater now sits in a drawer while the soap bottle rides in my cargo pocket every trip. Anyone else drop cash on fancy gear only to go back to the cheap fix?
