That $20 CVT belt on eBay nearly left me stranded in the Uintas last Saturday
I always figured a belt was a belt and saved some cash. Found a deal for 20 bucks on an off-brand belt and threw it on my Polaris before a long ride. After about 30 miles up around Mirror Lake Highway, I started losing power on the climbs. Pulled the cover off at the trailhead and that cheap belt was glazed over and had chunks missing from the edges. Has anyone else had a close call trying to save a few dollars on drive components?

Yeah but it's not just the belt itself failing... that shredded rubber can get thrown into your clutch weights and clutch cover, taking out way more expensive stuff than the twenty bucks you saved.

Had a buddy ignore a worn belt on his Polaris and it grenaded mid trail. That rubber spaghetti wrapped around his clutch so bad he had to replace the whole thing. Cost him like 400 bucks for being cheap.
