Swapped my snowmobile track for a camso kit and wow what a difference

I spent three seasons fighting with a worn out stock track on my 2016 Ski-Doo. Last month I finally swapped it for a Camso ice ripper kit and I can't believe I waited that long. The old track would slip on hardpack and I constantly had to feather the throttle to keep from spinning out. With the new setup I can actually punch it from a stop without digging a hole. Climbing hills feels way more stable too since the studs bite in instead of just spinning. It cost me about $650 for the whole kit but it saved my back from wrenching on the trail every weekend. Has anyone else made the switch from a stock track to a studded or ice ripper setup? Trying to decide if I should do the same on my buddy's Polaris.

That $650 sounds steep until you factor in all the time you wasted fighting that old track on hardpack, I bet it paid for itself in saved aggravation by the second ride. For your buddy's Polaris, I'd say go for it if he rides the same kind of icy trails, the bite difference is night and day and you won't want to go back to a stock setup.

Alright, I gotta admit, I was super skeptical at first when my buddy dropped that kind of cash on his track. I told him he was nuts and that there was no way it was worth it. Seeing him rip past me on the same icy trail after a few rides totally proved me wrong though. He didn't have to fight the thing at all, just hooked up and went. So yeah, your point about the saved aggravation is spot on, it's a whole different kind of riding when you're not constantly spinning or sliding. I've changed my mind completely after seeing it in action, that bite difference is real and it's a game changer for those hardpack days.
