Spent 6 hours fixing a carburetor float that was off by 2mm

Pulled my old Arctic Cat out of storage last Saturday and it wouldn't idle for anything. Turns out the float height was just barely off after I replaced the needle valve, like maybe 2 millimeters wrong. Took me from 10am to 4pm chasing a boggy throttle before my neighbor came over and pointed it out in 30 seconds.

Oh man, that float level tricked me too on my old Ski-Doo last winter. I ended up using a clear fuel line to check the bowl level while running, it saved me a ton of guesswork. Set the float at the exact spec from the manual with a caliper and then checked the fuel height to see if it matched. Made a world of difference and got it idling smooth again in about an hour.

My buddy Jake tried that same clear line trick on his Arctic Cat and ended up with gas all over his boots cause he forgot to pinch the hose first. Took him like three tries before he got it right, but man once it worked he was bragging about it for weeks.
