Spent 6 hours chasing a no-start on my 2008 Arctic Cat because of a tiny ground wire

I was getting ready for a weekend ride up in the Poconos and my ATV just wouldn't turn over. First I checked the battery, that was fine. Then I messed with the starter solenoid for 2 hours and still nothing. Finally I traced the main ground cable to the frame and found a spot where the insulation had rubbed off against a bracket. It was a 10 cent fix that cost me half a Saturday. Has anyone else had a simple ground issue waste their whole day?

Two hours on a solenoid before finding that ground wire... brutal.

You were positive it was the solenoid itself for that long before the ground wire even crossed your mind?
