Rant: burned a whole Saturday chasing a no start on my 2004 Sportsman 500 over a $9 relay
Turned out to be a $9 starter relay behind the battery box that I only found after pulling the tank, checking the kill switch twice, and swapping plugs, so what is the dumbest cheap part that ate your whole weekend?
My 2011 Ranger did the same thing last summer, spent like 6 hours testing the fuel pump and cleaning the carb because it would crank but not fire. Turned out the $12 neutral safety switch was shot, so it thought it was in gear the whole time. I had the seat out, the dash apart, you name it. My kid kept telling me to check the simple stuff first and I kept ignoring him. Worst part is I had a spare switch sitting in my toolbox the whole time from a parts order I forgot about.
