Why does nobody calibrate their monitor before editing astro photos
I spent 6 months wondering why my nebula shots looked flat on other screens before a guy at a meetup in Denver told me my $40 monitor was showing 20% more blue than anyone else saw fix that first.

lol oh man this is such a real problem. It's like buying a new TV and wondering why everything looks weird until you realize the "vivid mode" has been on the whole time. People just trust their screens way too much without checking.

Is it though? People have been buying TVs with awful default settings for decades and somehow survived. @seth_green85 seems to be worrying about something that takes like 5 minutes to fix if it even bothers you.
