Vent: A friend told me my star trails were just messy lines

He said I was moving the tripod too much between shots, so I started using a remote shutter and leaving it completely alone for the full 30-minute stack. Now my trails from last weekend at Joshua Tree are way smoother and actually look like circles. What's the longest single exposure you guys have managed to keep sharp?

Honestly, those messy star trails had a cool chaotic energy though. A perfect circle is just what we expect to see, so where's the surprise in that?

Totally see that in how people chase perfect social media feeds now. The messy real life stuff is way more interesting, right?

My longest sharp exposure was 45 minutes, but only because I fell asleep and the camera was more patient than me.
