Switched from a smartphone tripod to a proper star tracker for my night sky shots and the difference was night and day.

I spent six months fighting with blurry stars on a $15 phone mount before I finally borrowed a friend's Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer and got crisp Andromeda shots on the first clear night last Tuesday, so has anyone else found that gear upgrade was the real bottleneck in their astrophotography learning curve?

Wait wait wait, you borrowed a Star Adventurer and got crisp shots of Andromeda the FIRST night? That's insane. I spent like three months on a cheap phone mount getting nothing but star trails, and even my first attempts with a used iOptron SkyTracker were totally ruined by forgetting to balance the weight properly. It took me a solid week of clouds to figure out polar alignment, and you just nailed it on your first try? That's wild. Makes me wonder if I'm just bad at this or if the gear really was holding me back that much.

You nailed it on your first try" - honestly that gives me hope, not jealousy!
