Spent $250 on a 'premium' star tracker that was a total dud
Bought a new tracker online last fall, said it could handle 5 minute exposures. Tried it on three separate nights. Every single shot came out with star trails. My old, basic mount did better. The thing just couldn't hold alignment. Total waste of a clear sky weekend and the cash. What's a reliable tracker that actually works under $300?

Total waste of a clear sky weekend" made me drop that brand fast.

Right? Clear skies are the best part of the season. Messing that up is an instant dealbreaker.

Oh man, I used to be all about the gear specs and never cared much about the weather conditions. But @the_kelly's "total waste" comment really got me thinking. Now I'm totally on your side, clear skies are everything. What brand was it that let you down?
