My neighbor said his cheap telescope was just as good for photos
Talked to my neighbor Dave last night. He said his $150 telescope from the mall got him the same Orion shot as my $800 setup. Showed me his photo on his phone, looked pretty sharp. I always thought you needed serious gear to start. Anyone else get decent shots with basic equipment?

My buddy's phone shot through binoculars shocked us all.

Modern phone cameras handle way more shake than binoculars give. That combo is basically a telephoto lens, which phones already have. The software probably just saw it as a normal zoom and adjusted fine.
