My moon photos changed overnight, this is a warning

I shot the Moon last Tuesday and again this Thursday from the same backyard in Reno, and the craters look completely swapped in detail and shadows. Turns out the libration drift plus a dirty sensor filter was hiding half the sharpness, and I almost deleted the old ones. Has anyone else noticed a sudden before-and-after jump like this without touching settings?

Man, that would mess with my head too. Same backyard, same settings, and suddenly the Moon looks like a different world, that's rough. Glad you caught the dirty filter before you trashed the old shots though, that's a solid save.
