I used to just point and shoot at the moon through my telescope
Back in 2019 I would just hold my phone up to the eyepiece and hope for the best. Got a proper T-ring adapter for my Canon after a buddy in Tucson showed me his stacked Jupiter shots. Now I'm doing 3 minute exposures with a remote shutter and the difference is unreal. Anyone else make that jump from phone pics to a real camera setup?

@caseyw12 that first sharp moon shot through a proper mount felt like seeing it for the first time.

I used to roll my eyes at people talking about T-rings and adapters. Thought it was overkill when a phone could get a decent shot. Then my buddy let me borrow his setup for one night at a local star party. First shot I took with a proper camera mount - just a 30 second exposure of the moon - it came out so sharp you could see individual crater rims clear as day. Haven't touched my phone for astro pics since.
