Changed my mind about moon shots after one hazy night in Denver
I used to think you needed a $2000 scope to get a decent lunar photo, but last Tuesday my neighbor let me look through his cheap 4 inch Dobsonian and the detail on the terminator was unreal. He just said 'it's all about catching the low angle during twilight' and I realized my expensive setup was useless when the atmosphere was boiling. Does anyone else find that timing beats gear most of the time?

Your 4 inch Dob is actually plenty for the moon, cheap scopes do fine on bright targets.
