Can we talk about how much darker the sky got at Cherry Springs State Park?

Honestly, I went there last month and the difference from my suburban backyard was crazy. I could actually see the Milky Way's dust lanes with my naked eye, no camera needed. Has anyone else found a spot that made their usual setup feel totally different?

Yeah, that place is on another level. Took my old binoculars there and it felt like a whole new hobby. Makes you realize how much light we just live with normally.

Exactly, and it's not just about stars. @david821, that feeling hits with sound too. Go somewhere truly quiet and your ears feel broken for a minute. We're drowning in noise and light pollution all the time and just tune it out. Makes you wonder what else we're missing because it's been covered up by normal life.

Wait, are you saying your ears actually feel broken after being in real quiet? Like physically messed up, not just weirded out? That's wild, I've never heard anyone describe it like that before.
