A guy at the Grand Canyon star party told me my camera's 'ISO 3200' is actually 2500 and I've been lying to myself for 2 years
I checked the sensor review site he mentioned and he was dead right, my old Canon fudges the numbers above 1600. Now I wanna know how many of you actually trust the ISO your camera claims, or do you just test it yourself?

Wait, Canon fakes their ISO numbers? That is wild to me. I always figured the number on the screen was just a hard fact, like the focal length or something. So my whole life I have been shooting at "3200" thinking I knew my settings, and it might really be 2500 the whole time? That makes me want to go test every camera I own right now. How do you even check that stuff at home without some fancy lab setup?
